First of all -- it is considered rude to answer to the personal

If it is not big, then fear nothing and send it here. Moreover,
it may be helpful to read btxdoc.dvi, which is part of your TeX

This is all new to me; another learning opportunity. I've read the BibTeX
section in "LaTeX for Linux" and a couple of Web pages. Taking one step at a
time, I'd like to have someone take a look at my .bib file and let me know
if I've done it properly. So far I have only about a dozen entries, but

The linuxdoc tools chain uses latex to make a dvi, so something is going
wrong in that department.
I will try the same things on a Redhat 9 system. (Most things I try on
SuSE seem to go wrong!).

I actually didn't get a file. I got a bunch of text with backslashes and such. I
thought you meant to send it that way.
Here's the problem. If I put that in Typewriter font, but not LyX Code, I can't type
spaces to indent correctly. If I put it in LyX Code, then the (a) and (b) disappear.

Along the lines of the previous posting from Paul Smith on relabeling theorems, how might one change
"References" to "Publications" in the article class? I am using Bibtex generated references.
\renewbibliography doesn't appear to be analogous to \renewtheorem
Thanks

Hello,
I am normally using Lyx 1.20, but I'm planing to switch to lyx 1.3.2. When I
open a document which was created with lyx 1.20 using fanyhdr I encounter a
problem: When I use the pdf preview or export function, the pagenumbers
(created with fancyfoot) were gone. If I'm using the dvi preview

Have you tried adding \sloppy to your preamble ?
This will make latex break the line before long "words".
Yes, I did try that but sloppy only justifies words on a line, and it
still treats the long citation as a compound word. So although, it does
alleviate the problem, it doesn't completely solv

Dear list,
It's not really a problem I have, rather a question out of curiosity.
I'm using koma-script report with lyx/mac 1.3.3 (german) and want to
have a figure with the caption beside it. According to the scrguide
koma-script provides a command \captionbeside, but so far I couldn't
