There may be a simple solution to this, but I've been unable to find one
anywhere.
Using Natbib author-year style in Lyx 1.5.6 and Koma-script article, I
select a citation style like this (Firstname Surname, year). This looks fine
within Lyx.
Exporting to pdf or dvi makes the citation

Yes thanks, I guess that is what I was after. However for some reason
if I try and modify the binding with the gui LyX always crashes when I
try and restart it the settings are lost.
I wondered if my mac.bind file was too out of date so I copied the
binding from
I just found my problem. I had a blank space after my path to my
mac.bind file. It all works now. Except that is the that LyX crashes
whenever I update my preferences, but they are saving now so I can
deal with that.

Just tried it, and that worked, too. Must have gone in just after rc4.
But we expect rc5 next week. Or you can compile from svn.
Excellent! I'll wait till next week for RC5.. been a long time since I compiled
