I am currently using LyX 1.3.2 on FreeBSD 4.8 (installed on i386) I have a number of web references in my masters thesis bibliography. I created the bibliography using Bibtex. Two of the references contain tilda ie: http://foo.com/~bar, but when it prints out all I have is a blank space:

I have some problems with the positioning of floats in my document. I have already tried the tips and tricks, discribed at Herberts page, but nothing worked: What I try to get with !htbp written in the header is a float position closest to the position I have it within the Lyx-GUI. Everthing

Hello, I left lyx open for few days, and then we I get back to it and try open new files or close the file I had been working on, it gives a pop up box something like Error couldn't open files /tmp/lyx* No such files or directory. I guess it's because the file that it tries to find got

Have you tried running the reconfigure script (configure.bat) from a dos session? That's likely to be more informative. (I had a problem with this under win2k, which I think had to do with win2k on a 128MB ram machine. I switched shells --- bash.exe renamed sh.exe + cygwin1.dll from the cygwin
