Hi,
since the KDE 3.4->3.4.1 update I have a problem with special characters
with Lyx 1.3.5 in SuSE 9.2. Before that I could easily write e.g. ü or
é in Lyx, now there appear "u and 'e instead. I have to use Lyx-code
(\"{u}) to get this chars straight. In all other programs (OO, Konsole
etc.)
Hi
I also had problems using Lyx with Beamer. Eventually I went for a mix of
ERT and Lyx. Some things are just done much more easily in ERT.
I have put a sample file on the wiki under the beamer window. If that works
for you, you may care to use it as a template. Looking at Beamers

I really like beamer but
Even when I run the supplied example: The Complexity of Finding Paths in

Answer to #1: I don't know.
Answer to #2: do not put an ERT with \alert{} within an \example block.
Something there gives pdflatex indigestion.
It now works again.

the options PDF, PDF (dvipdfm), or PDF (pdflatex). If you do, you can
use any of them to export the document as a PDF file. (There are
relative merits to each,

You can press [ctrl-h], use the menus (File -> Export -> pdflatex), or
create a PostScript file which you then run through ps2pdf.

I was working on my presentation and tried View -> pdflatex to see the
appearance after making some additions to a slide. Acroread pops up and tells
me there are problems with the file; it's broken and cannot be fixed.
When I export the file via pdflatex and try to view it with xpdf I see:

Hi,
I have finished my PhD thesis (Many thanks to all contributers to LyX).
When I went with my postscript file to the printer we found that the
resolution of the fonts was too small.
It turned out that I had the standard EC bitmap fonts with a resolution
of 600dpi.
