Re: Spellchecker problems on Windows
Hi! I also had a similar problem. In my case, if I do not remember wrong, it was not a problem with rights (or not completely), but of missing files. I would suggest you to do the following. Under C:\Documents and Settings\your-username\Application Data\ or under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ there should be a directory called Aspell. Inside that directory there should be another two: Dictionaries and Personal. The Personal directory should contain two files, namely en.prepl and en.pws (assuming you are using the English language). If you do not find those files (that was my case), create them: Write personal_repl-1.1 en 0 as the first line of en.prepl and personal_ws-1.1 en 0 as the first line of en.pws. Hope this is of help! are there alternate svn servers for lyx?
I was wondering if there are alternate svn servers for lyx as svn.lyx.org is mostly unresponsive (I don't know if it's my location or server overload). Re: multiple authors (\and) is ert necessary
Tim, I guess what Micha means is if you need to use \and in ERT to separate authors in the author environment of a document. The answer, AFAIK, is that it depends on the class. I think that if you have multiple authors, the best approach is to use a full ERT first page where you include the title, authors, addresses, abstract and keywords. Hope this helps. How to use Lucida fonts
Hi! I would like to use Lucida fonts in one document, but I do not know how to do it. First of all, I would like to know if LyX can be somehow configured to include Lucida (or any other font) among the available family fonts in the Text Style dialog.
Re: Multi-numbered equations
Thank you for your replies! But in the example below from Stefano Baroni; if I write a \label{..} and then referencing it from the text I get the section number instead. Is it possible to correct? Otherwise, since you write the form 1+1=2 (2), F=ma (3), A=bh (4) is more common, how can I do that? I tried with minipages but the equations kept coming on different lines. Thank you for all help! Regards, Hans Stefano Baroni skrev: Dear Uwe and Hans, it also seems to me a rather weird notation, but, for what matters, here are a few latex lines that would do the job: $$ \displaylines{ \hfill 1+1=2, \quad F=ma, \quad A=bh \hfill \llap{ \stepcounter{equation} (\theequation), \stepcounter{equation} (\theequation), \stepcounter{equation} (\theequation) } } $$ Cheers - Stefano On May 5, 2007, at 8:10 PM, Uwe Stöhr wrote: Hans Kunkell schrieb: I have 3 equations that I want on a single line (not inline), and numbered individually, like this: 1+1=2, F=ma, A=bh (2), (3), (4) I don't know how to do this in one single line. Just one additional question: is there a list of shortcuts where I can look for something like this? You could start looking at this page: http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/KeyboardShortcuts It's only updated for 1.3.3 though (not that things have changed AFAIK). Anyway, it should be updated together with 1.5. /C -- Christian Ridderström, +46-8-768 39 44 http://www.md.kth.se/~chr

Edit Style
Hi. I am currently using the document class "article (AMS)" which provides a list of styles such as Theorem, Proof, Definition, Claim, etc. How could I similarly create a section/style for "Assumption #.#"? I tried googling this without much success. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much, Ken

I wish someone would write a book explaining how to write a math book (I mean from the typesetting standpoint, not the content standpoint). SteveT
Re: Spellchecker problems on Windows
Hi! I also had a similar problem. In my case, if I do not remember wrong, it was not a problem with rights (or not completely), but of missing files. I would suggest you to do the following. Under "C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\" or under "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\" there should be a directory called Aspell. Inside that directory there should be another two: Dictionaries and Personal. The "Personal" directory should contain two files, namely "en.prepl" and "en.pws" (assuming you are using the English language). If you do not find those files (that was my case), create them: Write "personal_repl-1.1 en 0" as the first line of "en.prepl" and "personal_ws-1.1 en 0" as the first line of "en.pws". Hope this is of help! Nicolás Ares wrote: 2007/5/7, KTl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Hi, thanks for your answer. Yes, I am running WinXP. updating of indexes database fails sometimes
Hallo, I have notices that somehow the database of indexes is not being updated during consecutive views/changes of a document. Sometimes the references or formulae numbering looks like [?] (?) or things get shifted, although usually the this gets fixed after a couple of consecutive views. How can it be fixed permanently ? Thanks, Tomek
