I recently upgraded to LyX 2.2.3 as I am not doing any production work at the
moment and it seemed a good time to explore some of the new features.I have a
problem with the Rnw(knitr) module in LyX. LyX is insisting that the knitr
package does not exist and the compile aborts.R says knitr is
of files with knitr
code and I would hate to have to modify them. But, at least, we now know
that LyX is talking to R which is reassuring.
Thanks again,

I seem to have working dictionaries installed as spell-check in all three

Can anyone hazard a guess what is going on? This does not look like a bug,
much more likely a problem in my configuration but I don't have a clue on
how to diagnose the problem.
MWE attached.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks very much. It's good to know I don't have a potentially serious
problem in my configuration.

I had that problem the other day. You probably need to install the
appropriate spellcheck dictionaries.

I just installed 4 or 5 spellchecker dictionaries using the standard sudu
apt-get install command in Ubuntu.
Of course, I installed the hunspell-en-ca dictionary that spells things like
colour correctly
