I have just installed lyx-1.3.3-win32 following Ruurd Reitsma's
instructions using the suggested English dictionary. I am having
problems with the spell check, but basically closing the spell checker
causes an exit from Lyx itself which is a real nuissance, apart from
which you can never update
Having problems importing eps files and displaying them on the screen in
lyx - I get 'error converting to loadable format' and doing a straight
latex pdf fails. However the graphics files appear in the dvi text using
YAP viewer and a readable pdf file is generated clicking on
PDF(dvipdfm).
I am a novice lyx/latex user so please bear with me. I want to set up
journal styles e.g. Jfluid Mech , Phys Rev etc. I understand that the
journals have the various latex style files on their web sites. So how
do I go about importing them into lyx/ Miktex etc.

the installed version of lyx I get a the message ‘the exernal program
pplatex finished with an error’. It is recommended that I fix the erro in the
xternal progam. Very helpful?
