you can copy from your old-installed lyx, otherwise from CTAN -- cv.cls It's already there in the lyx-1.3.0/lib/tex/ and /usr/local/share/lyx/tex folders and the layout file is in /usr/local/share/lyx/layouts so the files exist but lyx isn't reading it in for some reason.. nirmal

I would like the equation numbers to appear in brackets in the text when I reference them. How can this be done? I use the Prettyref option and that puts in the parantheses around the eqn. number when you reference an equation.. if you click on the reference inset, in Format, hit Formatted

Oh, forgot to mention that I have the Xforms version, not Qt (and not KDE either). Couldn't find anywhere to download the Qt stuff from, and I had to hack into the source to figure out why colors weren't being set at all. You don't need to download anything extra (other than Qt of course!)

Edit it to an empty string? Thanks for the responses everyone.. toggle numbering works.. but editing the label to an empty one still leaves a number in the final output and results in some funny behavior.. i.e. the label number (say #2) shows up and the next equation is numbered correctly (#3)

Just thought I'd update the list on what worked.. I exported the figure from xfig as a latex picture with a .latex extension. Then did an Include file in LyX and used the Input option (the filter .latex needs to be included for the file to be visible).. and it worked great, all the LaTeX math etc.

I have a custom bib style (asa used for many statistical journals) and I'm trying to get the citations so that they are ordered according to the order in which I cite them.. I saw a thread on this list which dealt with this but the solution seemed to be that the unsrt style needs to be used..

Have you tried copying the contents of the window and pasting them in a text editor or word processor? Yes - all my formatting goes away, i.e. the headings, bullets etc. and the math becomes raw latex code.. so overall, it becomes pretty unreadable.. Thanks, nirmal

what Nirmal is after is screen shots. Gimp is good for that. Thanks Steve.. I'm actually looking for a document in the same form as what appears on the LyX screen... screenshots would be a bit crude and pretty time consuming too since I'd have to get several shots and will have to repeat this

OK, I did get it to work but I had to eliminate the brackets. If I tried entering the brackets as you have it above, it produces several errors. Just adding an ERT: \large prior to my BibTeX inset worked. Not sure why the brackets aren't working.. it works for me.. I'm guessing there's
