If you select fraction then in the top box of the fraction select matrix and choose a 2x1 matrix then you get two lines on the top of the fraction. I also chose a 1x1 matrix on the bottom so the format is the same. The only draw back is that the bottom of the fraction is not left aligned. See

This looks to me like a simple case of LyX not recognizing that a path which starts with a drive letter specification (c:/) is an absolute path and not a relative one. Could you try without the drive letter, that is setting the target to /lyxfiles/thesis/ch3.tex? The solution! If i just remove

I also dont feel it is a bug. Once you actually return to the original document (with the open ERT window) and type anywhere the text disappears (on my win32 setup at least) and the box returns to its empty state (albeit with what you just typed in it!) I think this is a pointing device

pdf file not found

After using pdflatex to convert my lyx file Acrobat Reader says cannot find file. If i search around in the lyx/tmp directory the file is there and i can open it. Any reason why Reader cannot see this, it has been workingin the past. Geoff

Does anyone know how to get this to work with Word Xp. I have installed the wvWare as per the Wiki pages. I have also written the wvCleanLatex.bat file and the lyx2lyx script for Latex import but keep getting the following error Cannot convert file Error while executing wvCleanLatex

Geoff; Check addresses do not have spaces to start with. Also try placing the word.doc directly into the lyx/bin directory (or close by) I got it working when I tried this. Rob S Have tried both but to no avail. In the Lyx command window I get the following error No such file '+-*='

After much fiddling I have found the problem. Lyx doesnt like the GnuWin32\bin files to have a path that includes spaces. I should have realised this before. With the tools in c:\GnuWin32\bin it works very well. Thank you to all those who had helpful suggestions. Geoff
