Class: REVTeX 4.1, options: aip, reprint
RevTeX allows sections inside widetext regions. However, with LyX, section,
subsection and Wide Text are all accessed by the drop-down menu and each
command/environment has its own context on the LyX screen.

I don't think this has anything to do with LyX, it's just how revtex
class behaves. You can see many examples of it on arXiv.
APS, if I remember correctly, uses some other software to produce
printed papers.
Sorry if you're seeing this a second time; however, it appears to me as

example files this time in case that caused the problem.
