Thanks Alan and Julien for spending the time to clarify the issue.
I should perhaps explain why I ran into this mess.
I used to work with LyX1.6.3, than decided to update to 1.6.5 using svn (I
kept 1.6.3, call lyx165 for the update).
Now I thought I could profit from the new features of the LyX2
I am using a document class article(IEEETran).
However I need to use "Keywords" instead of the default "Index Terms"
How can I change to "Keywords"
Thanks,
Waluyo

Is there any reason that I should shy away from
the notion of using LyX with TeX Live in a Windows
environment?
If not, are there any suggestions or observations
suitable to configuring LyX and TeX Live to work
together under Windows?
Thanks.

Hi,
I would like to use hunspell as a spellchecker with LyX 1.6 under
Windows 7. I know it is supported by LyX 1.7, but this release is still
in alpha status. I have hunspell installed as part of MikTex 2.8.
bye,
Falk

You'll have to wait for LyX 2.0.

Hi all,
Leo Lopes (with me looking over his shoulder) (from a safe distance) has
suggested to INFORMS that they cobble together a layout file for their
LaTeX article class, and is meanwhile working on a Python script to
convert LaTeX files produced by LyX using another layout to what INFORMS

Thanks. Tips and tricks abound on the wiki (http://wiki.lyx.org), but I just
had a look there and did not

You could always add this to the wiki. Regards

Hello,
I am experiencing problems with subfloats.
I would like to insert multiple figures in a float, so I followed the
instructions in the "Embedded Objects" LyX manual by inserting a float within a
float, but I get errors when trying to view my LyX file as a PDF.
Could I please have help in

Hi,
I did this in LyX on Linux, should work on any other platform:
1) Open one of the help files (like help --> Introduction)
2) Edit the documents settings (Document --> Settings...)
3) In the new window (LYX: Document Settings), Click on LaTeX Preamble
4) copy this part:
