The DVI boot code could run on a Z80 emulator however it would be quite a lot of work and the DVI boot code is heavily intertwined with the CRTC and FDC chips as to make it a fruitless exercise. The boot code on the DVI actually formats the sectors for the disk and simply uses the FDC to

I did reverse engineer around 60% of the boot code of the DVI last year to work out how the Video and Floppy were used – most of it is very low level interface software for the FDC chip and some spaghetti code to control the graphics chip. Quite a lot of corners cut and some neat ways to deal

I'm barely into programming so I can't completely visualize how this would be done. I'm thinking you would still need the m100/m102/m200 cable. Then interface the cable to a USB i/o device like https://ameridroid.com/products/usb-io-board The device connects to a modern computer that is

Hey George, I have reverse engineered the Video portion of DVI, at least enough to get 80x25 mode working in VirtualT. I was working on a modern equivalent called TDock, but discovered I had less than zero time between work and two young kids. The idea at the time was to build an expansion

Hi Greg, My wife had some #40 developer, it was the consistency of water, but I didn't log the necessary info before trashing the container, my apologies. The screen on my T102 isn't in great shape, but I didn't notice any damage from the developer, thought maybe I'd replace it with a piece of

Thanks Kevin, I have some 40 Vol Cream Developer from Sally Beauty for this go. I used some 60 liquid before when I made up my own batch of Retro Brite. 40 should do the trick and I will probably use the Frog Tape just to be sure. God Bless, GregS <>< - Original Message - From:

I've done both. One of my NEC units is a NiCd replacement and the other a super cap. My 200 is a NiCd while my 102 is a super cap. To my surprise I left my 102 without batteries for about 10 days and when I put batteries back into it the RAM was still intact. Not what I expected at all. The NiCd

Keep in mind that supercaps have a high self-discharge rate. From the measurements I did when I put a 2.5F cap in my M100 I’m guessing it would back up the full complement of RAM for about 2 days. The original NiCad would last about a week will 4 option RAMs. That being said I don’t see a huge
