I don't know what the new version is like but Audio Hijack was the best
way I know of to record skype on a Mac.

was dropped. There is a big difference here.
The program will still work but third party apps s and hard ware such as the

I had a chance to play with the IOS version of the Skype App today, I've not
played with the App for ages and there have been some obvious upgrades and
changes along the way.
One changed I noticed was the ability to leave Video Messages but have not seen
this function in the Mac version
If I recall you just vo shift m on the contact's name and hit enter on send
video message. Now, it's been a few months since I last had to do this so steps
might carry a bit. I'll send a message off to the skype englishy list and see
if they have an answer.

Move VO to the top of the Skype Window with Vo-Command-left Arrow, Vo focus
will be on the Toolbar, navigate with Vo-Right arrow once to reach the Sidebar,

Not exactly, but you can press the command plus option plus you're either left
or right arrow keys to move from conversation to conversation.

I can tell you for sure that you cannot delete or edit your skype name. If you
are not happy with it, unfortunately, you will have to create a new account.
That is annoying, I whole-heartedly agree .
