hey all, something has been bugging me ever since i started using VO on the mac. if i have a german voice installed and i find german text VO can not detect and switch to german. on IOS language dictionaries are built into VO so an iPhone can do it automatically. even if i could change

It seems I’ve sorted out my voiceover auto-startup issue. It would appear that if you have file vault enabled, it won’t start automatically. I’ve since turned it off and tested it with a restart and it comes up talking. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. It seems it was my own mistake

If you own the excellent Voice Dream Reader IOS app (VDR), you might try opening the website in VDR and selecting / copying the text using the alternative method provided in that app. It’s still not a perfect solution, but is better than the default method provided in IOS, IMHO. HTH, Bryan

Voiceover works just fine in the terminal app that comes with osx. You can use text edit to write your code, just be sure to do a command- shift-t first to convert your document to plain text, or else it will be in rtf, and that won't work on the ruby interpreter. The simplest thing though
