Interestingly that's what the log said in my libpvx problem. And yes, there is no clang at this location. Anyway on closer inspection, looking the config.err in the build folder it revealed that not a missing clang was the problem but that the SDKs weren't found. IMO this only reveals a problem

Apple got rid of /developer instead it is in /applications/xcode.app/contents/developer Making a symlink from that to /developer might help, but you also need a symlink for /developer/sdks since that also vanished and is somewhere else in developer right now. Probably needs to install unix dev

If 10.5 is the target don't build x86_64, especially not on 10.6 or 10.7. At least outside of MacPorts the 64bit build will not be useable on 10.5 and worse, 10.5 will try the 64bit first and then crash. In an app you can use the plist and make the 64bit only useable on 10.6 and above, though.

I got rid of the beginning of this discussion but you are better off with the bleeding edge of wine (port wine-devel) than with the last release of Wine (port wine). Atm the wine release is quite new but before there was a wide gap between devel and release and you were better off with devel.

You can only download the xcode installer from the App Store. After successfull download you have to run Install Xcode.App in the Applications folder. Mac Ports does run fine with the current Xcode 4.2.1 from the App Store as well but that also just downloads the installer. Dom Am 27.11.2011
