If you use the lircrc attached copying it to
/etc/lirc/lircrc it works:
irexec
In another terminal irxevent.
Now add irexec and irxevent to the startup items and add sudo lircd -H
macmini -d /dev/hiddev0 /etc/lirc/lircd to /etc/rc.local
Reboot and all is working on => 2.6.22 kernel
2007/8/7, Magar
for me.

Hi, i have been some days trying different configs of the .config file to
compile a 2.6.22 kernel and i cannot get in any kernel LIRC working.
The IR device is always been using by another daemon and LIRC needs full
access to the event. It is in /dev/hiddev0 and, when o try:
sudo lircd -n -H dev/
affic and time the interface

I think that a partial solution can be creating a script that do a infinite
loop of ping to a DNS.
#!/bin/sh
ping -b www.google.es
And in the login, execute it.

Hi. Sorry for being late, but i was on holidays.
If i remove KDE and ATI lines.. the script does not do a lot. This does not
work also for me. Don't worry, i am going to keep on looking for the perfect
kernel release :D

Hi Nick Hoffman. My MB is normal, not Pro, then i have and intel. In the
script you sent me i have disabled fglrx and now, it only needs to work on
Gnome (i tried it) because it is for KDE only :(
Thanks a lot

Have i to add it?? I didn't know it. Sorry. In other kernels i only had to
patch it. I think that it will be great if the patch copy it to avoid user
ignorance about it :P
Thanks again

I think it now must be supported by lirc, because the patch remove appleir
support and do not add it as i can see in the appleirpatch
I am going to compile it again and to check lirc and irrecord

Hi. I am trying to patch my ubuntu feisty with your 2.6.21 and 2.6.22
patches with this error when I execute "apply". I have tried it in
2.6.21.3, 2.6.21.5 and 2.6.22-rc5 (last with 2.6.22 patches)
# ./apply /usr/src/linux-2.6.21.5/
And the result is:
[: 6: ==: unexpected operator
applesmc-mm.
