That problem also happens with safari on snow leopard. What we found out over at one s.m.m.u.g. meeting was that a monitor needs to be attached and turned on. Apparently the mac software waits for video updates and when it doesn't get them effectively hangs. It's like windows without a mouse

I don't think it is fair to compare Voiceover to Orca or NVDA. Voiceover is a proprietary product, the other two are not. Orca runs on Linux, on which none of the MS products are available. NVDA runs on Windows and supports IE, Firefox, Outlook, Word and Excel. What else do you need? I agree with
