I can't speak to using windows 7 or fusion. But if your friend selects to run
snowleopard, you can go into disk utility when the stream is plugged in and
look for mount, which is the way to get the mbp and the stream to shake hands
and be friends.

I think it might be vmware, since I had the same thing happen with windows XP.
My suggestion for audible is to simply use a card reader, and liet itunes
handle the downloading of the audible content.
