The Mac firewall really isn’t all that good, and really isn’t necessary anyway,
because OS X isn’t a great gaping hole by default. Just make sure only the
services you need are on, and you’re set.
Firewalls in routers, including the artificial one in AirPort, I’m a good deal
less thrilled
Just an FYI. Only posting this because Outlook 2011 for Mac is actually quite

I have a couple questions as I set up to record both Skype and FaceTime calls
using Audio Hijack.
I want the phone audio to be recorded on a separate channel from my voice,
i.e., the caller audio is on one channel and me on the other.
If there is an Audio Hijack list somewhere, point me
Hi,
The voice chat preset is set up for you by default to use Skype. You can change
the application to FaceTime, and you should be good to go.
It will automatically have you on the left and the caller on the right.

Thanks Matt, so I don’t need to add my USB mixer as a device then?
I was able to easily change the application to FaceTime. Thanks again Alex for
the great instructions there.

I just wonder if there are things maybe under the hood that get ran.

I did disable spotlight indexing on one of my macs and now I can't seem to

No problem, and God bless you as well, by the way.

Good point. To the OP: what voice are you using? Yosemite introduced some
serious delays in a lot of tasks when using Nuance voices, at least for some

i do have the same delay with the italian voices too, but on Alex, nope.

Hi. This is the reason why I use either Acapela's or Cereproc's voices if I'm

Both brands of voices don't have the same delay as the Vocalizer voices do.

Okay, thanks. I guess it’s free? I didn’t see a price on the page. The only
thing is that the link provided below, automatically downloaded the software on
my Mac when I clicked on it. That made me a little nervous. I don’t like

Okay, thanks.
OK, I have a question about this. Is this for burning labels onto
lightscribe discs, or is this more for actually printing on to labels, which
you then would stick on the CD itself.
If this can be done with Lightscribe discs, I very very much am interested!
