Hi Tim,
I found it under settings, privacy, and bluetooth as
se the new COVID-19 tracking feature in IOS 13.5?
Hi,
My understanding is that various health or government agencies who have
developed apps for tracking would request this data. It kind of depends on
your local/regional government. I agree in that it is not well explained.
Take note though,
Hi Tim,
I found it under settings, privacy, and bluetooth as well. We have a covid
tracing app in New Zealand that was released yesterday but it hasn’t got
bluetooth capability yet. We have been told that it is coming in future
updates.

Hi,
Go to Settings, Privacy, Health. Sorry, forgot to mention the Health part of
the equation.

One of the features that Apple and Google proposed was to only allow health
workers to mark somebody as being exposed to the disease. This way, one can't
freak out everybody that went to the Fraternity party with you last week.

You got further than I did, I can't find anything in my Privacy settings about
the app.

Yeah, I agree. There should have been better information up front, and the
whole effort should have been coordinated by Apple and Google. That way
individuals in a given state could opt in, whether or not their state does.

This is just an API that Apple and Google have built. In order to use it, you
need an app. To the best of my knowledge, only three states have said they are
participating in this program at this time, many have not said, and some have
said no. It will be up to the health authority of each state
my understanding is that it works through bluetooth. so I'm guessing you would
have to log if you have COVID-19 into an app and your phone will notify you if
you have been exposed. there aren't any apps yet.

Nice article, Tim. Thanks for sharing.
I guess I'm with you. I hope more information is forthcoming. the fact that
this is a shared effort between Apple and Google is, to my thinking, part of
what makes it cool, and gives it such potential. It would be a shame for that
potential to be wasted, e

The Learn More dialog doesn't really tell you much. It just talks about how
exposure notification works. It doesn't say anything about what specific apps
you need to install to use the feature. Under the Active App choice: I see no
apps installed. So clearly Apple's COVID app is not an option. t
Hi,
If you go in to Settings, Privacy, you can see the COVID-19 setting. When
inside this setting there is a Learn More button. It seems that there are
certain apps that you can allow access of the COVID-19 tracking system too.
It’s not available in my region, so I’m not totally familiar with t
Hi all,
I just installed IOS 13.5 so I could use the COVID-19 tracking feature. Problem
is, when I go into settings and enable COVID tracking, it tells me that it
can't be enabled because I don't have a necessary app installed. So, I went to
the app store and downloaded the Apple COVID-19 app.
