Yeah! They heard us!
I used the terminal command to enable the boot chime on my new Mac Mini
a few weeks back, but it's heartening to see this feature get added
where it belongs.
Now, those of us who need it can have it; and thems that hate it can be
rid of it! How cool is that?

Still no accessibility ratings or reviews in the App Store, of course. Privacy,
sure. But not accessibility.
We can hope that these changes make more apps accessible, but I can’t help
thinking that the other guys are starting to make Apple’s commitment to
accessibility look just a little bit

I’ve tried to contact them via the usual web form, which may not be very
effective. And then I thought I’d ask all my followers on Twitter to contact
Parler as well. To my surprise many have done so. So if other visually
impaired people are on Twitter and care about Parler in view

with WordPress. It is not a stand-alone app.

I know how to get into my downloads folder. I regularly watch it to see when
downloads have finished. I wanted to hear what was going on in Safari because
sometimes downloads get hung up by interruptions in internet service and other
things.

Within Safari 13.1.1, the command CMD + OPT + L should still open the Downloads
viewer.
The shortcut does not seem to have changed.

I attempted to host a meeting but the participant couldn’t get into the
meeting. He said I had to let him in. I looked through the menus but couldn’t

I just quite that one, started it again and interacted with the download as
soon as I started it. this time I did get the progress indicator.

I can still get that if you mean the clicking sound that happens when a file is
downloading. you press command-option-l. then I hear "clear downloads". it
sounds like a command, like you're in history or something but actually you can
vo-shift right or left and you have downloads and clear.
It's a simple thing to open the download manager and interact with
the table to monitor downloads.

yes. Thanks for reminding me Julie, and thanks for pointing out the specific
shortcut Brad. Using cmd-u to open the Participants panel does reduce the
number of steps to admit people. I usually open it right after I start the
session, so often forget about that shortcut.

Did you check in the privacy and security and see what other site you’re trying
to download from is allowing downloads? When Catalina came out last year, the
safari that came out at the same time requires you to approve downloads from
domains.
