Hi,
This might not be necessary. In voiceover utilities, check verbosity under the
announcements tab. See if Speak text under mouse after delay: is checked. If
so, uncheck it.

Hi Falcon and Ray,
Well you solved my problem. Problem was that I did not take into account the
length of the ring tones. The itunes issue, not importing them into the right
source table, is resolved by hitting vo space inside finder on each ringtone to
import. Works like a charm. Thanks a lot
Hi Ricardo,
Fortunately, that was not the problem. I.e.: itunes imports just fine if you
simply hit vo space on each individual ring tone you want imported. As Falcon
and Ray said, it should be 30 seconds or less. If you don't take care of that,
then the ring tone will import just fine, but it
Hi,
I agree. Static IP is the way to go. It's far more reliable and much less
hassle in the long run. With respect to MCX preferences and such, I've found
it much easier to use WGM than Terminal. I'm just not good enough at the
Terminal to dig as deep as needed to perform these tasks using
Speak text under mouse after delay: is not checked in my verbosity settings. I
was hoping that it might make it so I could use mouse follows VoiceOver curser.
It's really not a big deal, just an annoying curiosity.

No there is only one account as far as I know. I could be wrong though. I'm
still very new to the mac. On the users folder it only has one name. Does

Yep, that's a good indication. Also, at the log-on screen, you're placed in a
list of all the accounts on your computer you can log in to, which you could
use the arrow keys to go through, and if you press the down arrow a few times
and only hear one name, yours, that's another way to tell
You can close the text window before you quit the application, or, if you
forget and it opens with that document again, just do a command-n to start a
new document. You can also quit with option-command-q to clear all of the
document windows as well.

Hi Scott,
For #3, I never let my servers go to sleep anyway. I'm pretty sure that this

Hello Sarai,
If you would prefer your apps to close all the windows when you quit them, go
into System Preferences and select the General pane. Look for Restore windows
when quitting and re-opening apps and uncheck the check box. That will get rid
of your problem once and for all.

Hey TIm,
THanks for the reply and that is a very curious problem.
The only reason why I wanted to know about waking machines up via the ethernet
port is if we were gone for longer periods of time or if I wanted to update
machines on the network that may not be awake. I was also curious because
sendero lookaround works ok. there are several apps that are reasonably
accessible. be aware, there is a hardware bug in the 3 GS where if you have no
cell service, the gps chip may read all zeros (I have one without cell service
and it does this a lot).
