I get the same message on audible website when I access it from my mac in Safari. This allows some of the menu items like Library, to expand so that you can see the table of your purchases. I use the pass-through VoiceOver key combination vo+spacebar on the link which gives you the message

I just hit space by itself and that usually does the trick. Remember, that site was most likely set up with blind windows usewrs in mind. There is a pass through for voice over, but, if you use just the space key by itself, that makes it a moot point. Good advice though to just navigate it

One trick I use for making a lot of sites like this with dynamic drop-down controls more accessible is to set VoiceOver to move the mouse pointer to the VO cursor. In this way, merely navigating onto a submenu is usually sufficient to open it, and as long as you are moving forward you will see
