Re: Amadeus Pro gliche
Hello Phil, I do as follows: 1. Listen to the point where to start selection and press CMD + y and then m. 2. Listen further to the point where to end selection and press CMD + y. 3. I then press CMD + Arrow left to select to the previous marker. If I then press Space I only hear the selected part of the audio. Just a helpful hint: After pressing CMD + Arrow left I press CMD + z to remove the set marker. The selection won’t be deleted but the marker. That prevents Amadeus and myself from selecting accidentally parts which I don’t want to have selected. In the past it happened that I or Amadeus confused to which marker to jump because there were to many in the audio. Re: Amadeus Pro gliche
Check your general preferences to make sure that the space bar only plays the selected material. Sounds like this is unchecked. you want to be sure to check this. Also, Command+y does in fact move the insertion point to the play head. That is, Unless Marv changed something I am not aware of. When I want to select something, I do this: 1. Play until I hear the beginning of the thing I want to select. 2. Press space to stop playing. 3. Press command+y to move the insertion point directly to the spot where the playback head is. 4. Press P to drop a marker at that spot. 5. Now, move to the end where you want the selection to stop. 6. Press space to stop then command why to move the insertion point to the playback head and then p to drop your next marker. 7. Now, by doing it this way, you give yourself the flexibility to make that selection any time you need to afterward by just pressing option+left or right until you get to the beginning marker then press command+right to move the selection directly to the next marker. Alternatively, you may prefer to use the M key to drop a marker. This will open a dialog which will allow you to name the marker for future reference. HTH. Re: Amadeus Pro gliche
OK, I figured it out, but it’s still kind of weird. Here’s what I have been doing. First I start playback with tab from the beginning of the file to the point where I want to start the selection and then stop with spacebar and press the P to drop a marker there. Then, I hit spacebar to continue playing till I find the end where I want to mark the selection and hit spacebar. Now I press command Y to bring insertion point to the play head, and then command left arrow to extend selection back to the previous marker. Selection has now been made, and pressing the EE previews the cut correctly, so I know the selection is made. Here’s where it gets weird. Pressing command why has the effect of kicking the play head back to the beginning of the file. If I now press the spacebar it will play from beginning through the end of my selection. And then all subsequent spacebar will play only the selection. but, if I first pressed command shift why to bring play head to insertion point, it effectively brings the play head back into the selection and then pressing spacebar will correctly play only the selection. Believe me, I have run this six ways from Sunday and I have to conclude that pressing command why has the effect of kicking the play head back to the beginning of the file. And, pressing command shift why to bring it back to the insertion point before playing the selection is the only way to get it to correctly play the selection only. Otherwise, it will play from the beginning of the file through to the end of the selection. Once there, it is back in the selection area and subsequent presses of Spacebar will play the selection as expected. I have checked the playback settings and they are not the culprit here. So, it seems there is an extra keystroke in the command shift why to bring play head back into the selection area if I want to hear the selection plate with the spacebar. Make sure you’re hitting command Y to go to the play head, once you set your markers. Then it will play your selection. God bless. Hi Phil, e actually is preview cut not listen to selection. And you are really sure pressing Space? Shift Space plays the selected track and Tab jumps to the start and plays from there.
