Hi,

I run Version 16.60 (22041000). I have a 365 Subscription through our
education license, although business, or education should not matter as they
are the same download, just different license.

I'm also experiencing the same navigation issues with 12.3.1 on Word.
About the best I've been able to do is enable quick NAV, then set the
rotor to paragraphs, but this is not reliable as the way it used to work.
 Definitely a bug.

It's installed on the Mac, in my case.

Some Office 365 subscriptions give you access to the latest Microsoft
Office suite (with all updates as they are released). There are
Web-based versions as well, but those aren't commonly used with screen
readers, as far as I know. I'm absolutely not referring to a Web version
here; I think it's technically called Microsoft Apps for Business, or
similar, and it's a large installation.

I'm running the latest version (beta channel) on the Mac. It's the
release preview, not the development version. I can obtain the build
number if anyone needs to know.

Interesting that you are not experiencing the same issue.
I am running Microsoft365, Version 16.59 (22031300), on an Intel Mac mini,

Re: issue navigating a document in Word on Mac

2022-04-21 Thread Raul Gallegos
I'm also experiencing the same navigation issues with 12.3.1 on Word.
About the best I've been able to do is enable quick NAV, then set the
rotor to paragraphs, but this is not reliable as the way it used to
work. Definitely a bug.

2022-04-16 Thread 'Andrew Lamanche' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

I sometimes experienced a similar issue in other word processing application -
can’t remember which now. I think it may have something to do with the way the
text wraps in the window. Look in Ms Word settings to see if there’s an option
that says something like “wrap to window” that needs to be checked.

Good luck

Andrew

Re: issue navigating a document in Word on Mac

2022-04-13 Thread Bill Gallik
I wish I could be more helpful in this matter, but when I first installed the
Microsoft Office Suite on my Mac Mini I was experiencing the issue as described
in this thread. Several months ago I was trying to work with a document I had
copied from my old Windows PC and tapped some sort of control that I simply
don’t remember. The issue completely vanished.

As I say, I wish I could recall that control. But I post this message to the
thread to encourage others that there is a solution.

Re: issue navigating a document in Word on Mac

2022-04-11 Thread Gabe Griffith
It is very interesting to me Tim that you are not experiencing this issue. I’m
sorry you are Brad but at least it makes the likelyhood of me going crazy
slightly less.

The only thing I can think of to try is to uninstall Word and reinstall it. I
haven’t had a chance to do that yet but may give it a try tomorrow.

Re: issue navigating a document in Word on Mac

2022-04-11 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

The original DOCX document that I opened was likely created on a PC, so I
created a new document on my Mac using Word, then pasted content into it. All
worked as it should. I also saved a TextEdit document as a Word document with
positive results. The only difference was that Word announced that the
TextEdit created document was opening in Compatibility mode, but was totally
navigable.

I am running Monterey 12.4 though, which appears to be the main difference.

I am also experiencing this only mine isn’t saying one visible line. Otherwise,
it will not differentiate between lines. I am using a 2019 Intel Macbook pro

they display just fine in Text Edit.

Interesting that you are not experiencing the same issue.
I am running Microsoft365, Version 16.59 (22031300), on an Intel Mac mini,

2022-04-11 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi,
very funny. In a german mailinglist we discuss the same issues. I compaired the
same Word document in the same Word version. On my Mac no issues regarding
navigatibility. On his Mac same issue as here discribed.
So far we weren't able to find a solution but just to let you all know this
issue is real and it's not about Quic Nav.
All the best

issue navigating a document in Word on Mac

2022-04-10 Thread Brad Snyder
OK, I opened a .docx document I created earlier today in TextEdit, using
Microsoft Word on my Mac, and I am experiencing the same issue that Gabe
described earlier.

When I open the document, I hear VoiceOver say “one visible line”, and I am
also unable to navigate line by line, using either VoiceOver navigation or
simple arrow key navigation.

I have made sure that QuickNav is not enabled.
I have tried interacting and un-interacting with the document area, and still
am not able to navigate line by line.

This is very strange behavior indeed.
