How do I create a recovery partition just in case my girlfriend's new mac won't
have one? I never knew you had to create one in the first instance, since mine
came with one for Lion and presumably got updated as each new major OS update
was released. Correct? Anyway thanks for any responses.

Hi, Usually you format the new SSD using disc utility. Then cloan your
existing drive onto the SSD.
