With Pages and Text Edit, I am facing a strange problem. I prefer to read
paragraph by paragraph. But whenever
Microsoft Word is that it does not work well with large documents on
Mac. So I am trying out Text Edit and Pages. But here is a strange problem.
When I open a book length document on Text Edit/Pages/Word on Mac, I first
interact with it to read the text. I use the quick arrow keys and my own
app, Press command plus grov.

A second possibility is to open up a text, edit document separate from your
pages document. Write what you want in the text edit document then select all
of that text and paste it into the pages document since there are two different

arrows, not with VO keys. Once you’re on the column you want to add something
before or after, use option-left to add a column before, and option-right to
add a column after the one you are currently in.

Well, if this is not working then you can open up the view menu and go down to
the Goto menu. The last item in this sub menu is goto page.

Hi all,
I’m playing around with Pages on the iPad, particularly how to work with
comments, and am hoping someone has the answers to a couple of questions.
1. Is there a keyboard command to insert a comment?
2. Is there a way to have VO read comments while in the Document body?

Hi Donna,
When working with tables in Pages, I first interact with the table in question
and then I use vo+arrow keys to move through the cells. Vo+up arrows will
take you straight to the row below or above. If a cell is empty, I just start
typing the content and it is inserted
numbers. Any thoughts about how I might
correct the focus issue? I’ve worked with Paige as documents, but they don’t
typically have tables in them.

Hi all,
I think I fixed it. It was actually an imported Word doc. Once I saved it as a
Pages file, and then reopened it, I was able to tab around the table and enter
text as expected.

if when you press the tab key, it just adds a tab to the Pages layer, then it
sounds like focus is not properly within the table
Hi all,
I have to fill out a score sheet in Pages. How do I navigate from one
column/cell to the next, and how do I write in an empty cell? Tabbing just
seems to be leaving tabs in my document. Still haven't upgraded to Catalina, in
case that matters.
