Hey, anybody know the approximate size of the 770 user base? Or perhaps
the number of units sold since it was introduced? I'm trying to get a
feel for how many 770 (and 800) users there are out there, and also how
large the dev community is. Thanks.

Hi there,
I hope this is the right mailinglist to post to with my problem,
please let me know if there is a more suitable one.
I have this project where I want to reset certain settings with every
reboot of the device. I am running IT2006.
Specifically I want to remove the IM/gtalk/email

Also, where can I find the

Hi,
the fullscreen key is F6.
There are actually defines for the device keys in
hildon-widgets/hildon-defines.h header file:
#define HILDON_HARDKEY_UP GDK_Up
#define HILDON_HARDKEY_LEFT GDK_Left
#define HILDON_HARDKEY_RIGHT GDK_Right
#define HILDON_HARDKEY_DOWN GDK_Down
Under Maemo 1.x / IT2005 I used to call hildon_appview_set_fullscreen_key_allowed() to enable N770 fullscreen hardware button and automatically bind it to proper fullscreen / unfullscreen routines. Under Maemo 2.x / IT2006 there seems to be no similar method in hildon-libs: tutorials suggest using

Hi,
how can I change the default behaviour of the N770 hardware keys?
For example: I would like the 'Home' button to cicle between opened
applications; I can do that by creating the .matchbox/kbdconfig with
'F5=Next' in it, but after doing the proper action, it still keep on
jumping to the 'Home'
I believe your right, I think the home key is trapped by something
else before it even reaches X let alone MB. Not sure why that is.

Hi,
I think it would be neat to use the N770 as a remote control for
X11/Gnome, e.g. while doing presentations (with openoffice or xpdf), or
while playing music.
This is inspired by http://gbtcr.chileforge.cl/ , but my Bluetooth-able
mobile phone was just stolen.
How would I implement that the
Considering sw development for the N770, wouldn't it be a good idea
to allow the device log into a network file system (say, SMB) over
the WLAN so that compiled programs wouldn't need to be moved to the
target at all (eliminating MMC, or scp altogether).
I tried this, and with a dozen
I totally agree =-)
I guess that OMAP has no bottleneck on its graphics
(am I wrong?), so no bus problems with that stream of
data =-)
also, if the user is watching a fullscreen video, no
other application will use the video at the same
time.(obvious for fullscreen, but no so obvious for

What's about the question related to bluetooth?
By default, the 770 will have both page scan and inquiry scan disabled
(i.e. be non-connectable and non-discoverable). Enabling those scan
modes is just a matter of issuing a simple HCI command. For
After reading jk's excellent review, a fear of mine was brought up:
that N770 could be slow for multimedia purposes, specially video
playing. I had the impression an 200Mhz ARM CPU isn't quite capable of
decoding and displaying video at full-screen at such a high resolution
by itself. Will N770
