Andrew,
I have had a bit of a go at using the API from Delphi, but just can't get
things working. The problem seems to be what the hGrid relates to in
Delphi. Can anybody provide a simple Delphi example that, for example,
opens a grid and reads a value at x,y ?

I got the documentation for the grid engine from MapInfo (a file named
grideng30.exe containing 2 word files). It did contain documentation for
the Grid API functions, but missed a description of the various
C-structures (or records in Pascal) used by the API.

I'm often frustrated by the poorly implemented SQL in mapinfo, for example, the
following straightforward SQL fails...
update TableA set ColumnX=2 where ColumnY=5
Isn't this a pretty basic SQL query?
Is anyone organizing a petition to convince the MapInfo developers to implement a bit

Actually, there is a better SQL plug-in for MapInfo. It's called:
SpatialWare. With SpatialWare, you can install Informix with the MapInfo
and then use SpatialWare.

Natalie,
The easiest way to accomplish this is exporting your map (or maps) to an
image format supported on the web (such as jpg or gif) and build a
client-side image map with links for your location. You could do that with
MapBasic to read the URL in your table but the easiest way is to use

Has anyone noticed that if you do some operations in MapInfo on a dual
