No need to go that far, driver her over to Charleston so Rich and I can
enjoy your handiwork, and time your trip to hit I-95 mid-morning on a
weekday. There's more than a few long straight flat stretches...
I sure hope you can share a full write-up - someday I'd love to do the
same.

Once you finish, I'll swap you for my wagon (if your Wife will allow you
to drive a chick-magnet) so you can do that one properly, and I'll make
sure your tires are properly balanced out on I-95.

When I had an irrigation well drilled, a two-man crew with portable
drilling rig did the job. As the rig drove the well point down, it used
water under pressure to lubricate the point, and most of that water came
back up out of the whole, carrying material from the bottom of the well.
When that

Thanks, but I guess I'll just have to continue to be lonely and tough it out
in my mere sedan, and I already know my tires are properly balanced - even
tested on I-95 but not at 100 mph; well enough, though. BTW, I never
noticed the chick-magnet effect when I had coupla station wagons,
There are a couple of threads out there that cover this swap pretty
well, I don't know that I can add much to it. Other than be prepared to
have lots of energy and redo everything atleast 2x. :D AND USE LOCTITE
ON EVERYTHING. As of now I have only driven it around the block a few
times.

Yeah, what I want to know is how it drives! Do the gear ratios seem
appropriate to the power band?
Hi all,
Had to disconnect/reconnect the battery on my 1990 350 SDL Rodbender for
some electrical work. Radio came up with CODE (and punched it in), but
instead of the radio turning on, the screen went blank. It's not a code
issue, as I've reset it many times over the years.
Any suggestions?
Honestly, it was a bit disappointing. I am used to my gwagen clutch on
the 123 now, big heavy lots of torque. I was also dickering around with
the clutch pedal (sits really high seems that there is no adjustment,

Me too, WIlton. It's just magical when the radio springs to life after you

Thanks, this is the kind of information I need. I'm not sure how I'll get
samples through the screens of the drill point. I know silt gets through
and that may tell the tale. I also think when I hit sand, there will be a
sound change from the cement mixer driving activity and quicker

Harry,
It sounds like you are driving a sand point. It won't get much water
in clay. It is made to take up water in sand or gravel layers. BTW,
I lived at the top of a 100' hill, but water was about 7' down. THe
basement got water in every appreciable rain.

My hope is that I'll get into sand on the way down and hit water. A friend
nearby was building a pond in the side of a clay hill. Before they got to
the depth he wanted, they hit wet sand and had to get the dozer out. He said
that was about 18 feet.
