Thanks for the optimism Don. :
Last night I took Max's kick-in-the-pants and spun the front one
mostly out with a punch; it had enough resistance on the broken nub of
the bolt to spin it, and the bolt was about flush with the bottom edge
of the pan before I was interrupted by Scouts. I
Good! If you only end up with one 6mm bolt broken off, I would
suggest that it won't have a big impact if you leave it that way.
As for torque. you really don't need a torque wrench for 6mm bolts.
If you put your thumb around the rachet and tighten the bolt as tight
as you can with your

Glad to hear you're 50% done!
Double check the book torque values, and your wrench, and if you don't find
anything wrong, then probably back off about 25% so you don't break off any
more.
You can always tighten a little, check for leaks, tighten some more as needed,
and get it right with no

What about the other two links?
On both my '87 and my '95, the outer joint for the spring link (the lowest) was

I found the inner bushing on the spring link to be really tough without a press.

The vacuum locking system on the 1985 300CD leaks down in about 4 hours
after locking the car. Opening the master (driver's door) lock does not
result in opening any other door. (exception: when the vacuum is lost, the
gas flap opens automatically).
I have not pinpointed the source of the leak

In the 200D 2.4 project, I made 2 plates, one for the engine and one
for the OE oil filter. they were connected with 3 4' lengths of 3/8

Could such a plate be used to relocate the oil filter on a W115 to keep oil
from running down your arm when removing the filter for oil changes?

Bingo!
My thoughts exactly. It is so difficult to get the stupid can back on. I
think it was designed to be easy with the car on a hoist at the MB shop
but it is awful to do on the ground.
I am thnking spin on filter like on North American cars.
What think you all of the appropriate filter?
Ja,but.. the OM61x engines used in the 115 have a different
mount to the block. Walt is working on 616 plates for a 123 engine.

Actually, I happen to have a 616 from a W115 240D.
If there is enough interest, I could remove the filter housing and

If you return the key to upright (12 to 6) it'll be locked.
