The battery voltage was low for a day or two when I first put it in, but then
it came back up to 13-14 with the engine running. Annoying this would happen.
I wonder if the Jeep is eating batteries. History of Jeep batteries. Factory
original from 2001-2006. Changed preemtively to a Yellow T

I'd just pull the drain plugs. They have drain pan catches the size of large
garbage can lids that help keep the floor clean and work real well for coolant
also.

Optimas have quality control problems. The originals seem to last forever but
the new ones are hit or miss and can fail in under 3 years. There is one that
is better rated but I can't recall the name. It is available rebranded from

You could remove the sway bar and see if the noise goes away. :)
Sway bar bushings usually clunk going over rail road tracks and things
like that.
Bushings are hard to test and are often misdiagnosed.

If you want to know you'll have to pull the head. I've had one with a
cracked head and one wih a blown head gasket and one with both. The
only that had the most problematic coolant temp problem was the blown
head gasket.
The one that drove the best was the one with both a blown head gask

What is the chance that the recirc flap is not closing all the way
allowing 100% outside air. This would hurt the effectiveness of the
system for sure. Also what about a possibly dirty evap. Doesn't the
recirc flap at least partially engage anytime the A/C is on - or maybe
the source was
I sold used ones for about $300 each. They can be a PITA to get the

Not a Mercedes, but it sure is neat! It has fresh paint, new ag
tires, hydraulics look good, and a ROPS. It holds 8.8 gallons of
diesel, 6.1 quarts of coolant, 6.6 quarts of oil, and 31.7 quarts of
transmission/hydraulic fluid.

The cover on the drivers side protects the oil cooler. There is no
such cover on the passenger side on cars made for the U.S. Some
European cars may place an additional transmission (ATF) cooler for
vehicles that do towing, or maybe an intercooler in other models.

There are many mixed feelings on power steering fluid. ATF is a lot
different than it was in 1983 in terms of additives. MB now sells its
own Power Steering fluid. However, I do not think you will see a big
problem using ATF. Scores of people don't come on this list and
complain they have steer
The recommended wheel bearing grease is the MB dealer Green grease.

I've heard it said that evaps don't get changed much in Colorado.
In the Southeast they go out at an alarmingly high rate. But we have
very humid weather and the A/C is used a lot. My mech buddy does evaps
all summer long on 124's and 140's, and seeing more cases on newer
E-class cars ('96+).

Maybe use a screwdriver to push the lip out of place. Alex may be
right, the door panel may need to be removed to move the wires to get
enough slack. Just use some new wire and some crimp butt joints to
repair.

Yes. check the wiring visible between the body and the door
the drivers side rear in that has already had a wire cracking problem
(that blew fuses) and was repaired. 124 wire is not like the wire
used on older cars, and newer wires are even worse.
