I'm going from the MB CD here (job 46-715)
For the VT 49 and ZL 49 pumps, the reservoir is properly filled when the
cold (20C) oil level is 6-8mm below the embossed or cast mark inside the
pump.

Use a good quality ATF to replenish as much as you can after a suction
device .. a few days later do it again and then some days later
again, use Mobile ATF sysc to complete the process

Actually, I postponed the task for two reasons.
1. When I left work, it was 37 degrees vice the forecast 60 degrees.
2. Couldn't find any Mobil 1 in town. Will check Boone and/or Carroll this
weekend.
No telling when (or even if) the filter was last changed.
Actually, no, I wasn't baiting you.
I am a big believer in putting Mobil 1 in the crankcase but am not yet
convinced that it is necessary for some of the other stuff. (Please feel
free to convince me to the contrary.)
Some folks on here would use nothing but Mobil 1 windshield washer fluid if

Use the MB steering gearbox oil. Light yellow in color.
Or is it JUST ME who uses the stuff

Keep in mind the general principal of sys oil .covers the internal
parts with a slippery slime, good for a broad range of temp from -20 to
100 plus degrees, cleans the engine, improved MPG, less engine noise in
diesels, etc dino oil does the opposite compared to sys oil ...old
LT, I have found that Mobil 1 headlight fluid is far superior in
regular usage in the euro lamps on Gump. The DOT lighting was not
capable of mobil 1 usage, and that is why I changed to the euro lamps.

Theres really only one choice, and a quart of Mobil 1 will last you awhile. I
change the filter once a year and the fluid above the filter ever oil change.
The ATF is actually pretty nice to clean the black out of the tube
And you tell them about it? ... I take my used oil to the local Goodyear
dealer -- they use a waste oil furnace to heat the shop during the cold
periods. I think they will burn anything.

What do you do with the ATF after you suck it out? The place where I
drop off my used engine oil doesn't want any other fluids.
It's oil, no problem. It mixes in my drain pan with the engine
oil and all goes back together. Quietly. As long as it isn't
brake fluid or antifreeze I wouldn't
