I just leave it in with the oil, theres so little there who is gonna know? 
Besides as Marshall says ATF is just oil...

What do you do with the ATF after you suck it out?  The place where I 
drop off my used engine oil doesn't want any other fluids.

Sounds like the connectors need to be cleaned..... at the bulb is a good 
starting point for the low beams side....high beams are on separate  
wiring ....
