This is a rare opportunity to own a stunning example of the flagship of

Reads like a dealership blurb. The car is way out of warranty so I would

This comes down more to the matter of lack of use than maintenance.
As discussed previously, I would rather have a car with some miles on it that
has been maintained than a low mileage garage queen. While this car is only 13
years old, it my not be as big an issue as one that’s 20 or 30 years
Book is consistently below $10k on this car looking at other price guides. I
found one at a local Lexus dealer with a little over 100k on it. Florida car,
dealer maintained, etc. Look at the maintenance history on the car and all the
stuff that’s been replaced:
Very perceptive! If you budget 25 percent of the PP (priced over $5000)
for annual maintenance and repairs, you know that you will pay a pittance
in exchange for the pleasure and prestige of driving a Mercedes..

Oops, it was Hendrick who said the engine was worth a $10k locally, I was
thinking Randy said that. Cost of shipping probably kills that deal.

We actually had a 68 Chevy C10 for about 24 years and just sold it a
couple of years back. It was relatively unmolested but it really made
little sense to put $10K to $20K into it. You would never get it back.
Late model used trucks can be had cheaper and they ride better and make

He was driven off the edge of a paved road awhile back and had his right
front suspension wiped out by the edge of a curb cut. He's still
drivable, but probably isn't very safe.
Hendrik
A well at least I missed that curb cut:-)
So I take it there is structural damage?
Front suspension is pretty straight forward and relatively cheap to fix.
Just kinda annoying that a car which would be a very desirable model is
put out to pasture because of a little run in with something a bit

My son keeps saying we should put a small block Chevy engine in my 115.
I have a 4 bolt main 350 in the garage that I bought to put in a boat,
and then sold the boat.
I don't think I want a 115/5.7 gasser.
Randy who should probably sell the SBC engine

That depends on what you plan for the car. Race it or some other plan
involving thrashing it to being worthless, then by all means.
Value for these cars is in being complete enough without making it into some
hoopty. There are so many examples of the model that you change it up and it

I agree totally. However, my son is 24 and works as a mechanic in a shop
that builds hot rods.

Then he can make it into some rat rod. Bound to be some person willing to own
it after that. I would actually bet if he made it into a hot rod, lowered it
and put some dubs on it, he could sell it on Euro eBay for lots of cash. They
like that sort of thing. Like making a Vega or pinto into a

put the SBC in that.

I've seen one. Had to seriously modify the hood, and the supports for
the fenders have to be removed, not a good idea.
Almost as bad as the M117 in a W108.

We never got the V8 124's up here, so not even worth thinking about
doing here.
There was a local MB shop that had a couple of M119 with KE injection
but he wanted something like 10k for one.
Anyway the M103 is plenty fast enough
