I just adjusted the valves in my '82 300D. Upon reassembling the
linkages atop the valve cover, I had somehow (I think) rotated the
bowden cable drag lever 360 degrees. It was very tight and preventing
any movement in the throttle linkages. I couldn't see what the problem
was at first, so I

clockwise for soft mushy, and CC for the correct slightly firm shift; The
adjuster is already in the centre plug.

The issue with the 115 body 220D, 240D or 300D (I've owned all three) isn't
the oil draining from the pan, it's the oil that runs down your arm when you
unscrew the filter! It's mounted under the engine.

On my 85 380SE that I dropped the euro 5.0 in, was not getting fuel to
the engine. The fuel pump was not running but I jumped power directly
to it back and forth between pos and neg and finally got it to run.
Still was not gettting fuel and determinted hole was plugged right out
of the tank.

Use a grocery plastic bag to encapsulate the filter and attack the bolt
over the plastic bag. The mess stays in the bag, and you fish out the
