Re: [MBZ] Singletons.....and a picture
You are correct in assuming it is the car. Does raise some interesting [!] possibilities, though. I think I put too much cleaner in the last tank of fuel as it was behaving quite badly. I thought the engine was going to pull a 'Chinese fire drill' at one stop. That pretty much cleared up for a time, but then the injector pump started making noise. Added a can of ATF [Castrol was on sale at FLAPS] and that seemed to quiet it down pretty much. I do seem to have a coolant leak though, and some shaking just above idle. I'll put a new thermostat in just in case and check out the leak. Gary - do be aware that you will not be able to do that accurately all the time. I can tell within a few points when mine is in the mid 80's, but often am not at all sure up to mid 200's. It is the high blood sugar that slowly kills you, not the diabetes. I check 3 x a day at least, and the strips are way too expensive at @ $.40 each. Covered by insurance though. Re: [MBZ] OT: VISA's stupid limit on fuel purchases
It might have something to do with pre-authorizations on pay at pump. I discovered the authorization before pumping last summer was $100. on the diesel pump. Then, the amount of actual purchase is authorized. Sometimes it takes several business days for that first amount to be released. If I use a card or debit I go inside to a cashier and don't use pay at the pump. People that run near the limit on credit cards can have trouble too, but not as bad as bouncing the rent check because the bank's got a hold on $50 or $75 of their money. Fortunately, I do most of my pay-at-the-pump with a 5% rebate Amex card that has a credit limit large enough to pay for Rentfro's E320, so a few extra transaction approvals don't affect me now. Re: [MBZ] mind numbing deals at micro center (way off topic)
My Dad I used to reload we'd regularly go out shoot his 44 Magnum Ruger Blackhawk. Friends who would have no problem shooting a 357 magnum were afraid of the Blackhawk. I always though the Blackhawk was more controllable than most 357's because of the grip size. It was definitely more controllable than my N frame SW 357. Re: [MBZ] OT: VISA's stupid limit on fuel purchases
I discovered last summer as I was having a problem with fuel tank/sending unit. I ran out of fuel and walked across the street to a station, bought a gallon, drove the car across and filled it. In the process I had two at pump authorizations and two fuel charges totalling four. I got a call during the day from card company suspecting unauthorized use of the card. I actually thought perhaps I'd dropped the card? It was a Friday and it took until the following Tuesday for those authorizations to release. Luckily I didn't get stuck with a declined charge at dinner as in the television commercials. I discovered the authorization before pumping last summer was $100. on the diesel pump. Then, the amount of actual purchase is authorized. Sometimes it takes several business days for that first amount to be released. That wait for the unused authorization to clear is a wonderful way to bounce checks if you use a debit card and don't keep a lot of money in your checking account. Re: [MBZ] OT (way off topic) fun in America
I would not mind shooting a .454, probably just once.. My cousin has one. Not bad. It's probably not as punishing to fire as my nice 4 SW 29 in .44 magnum, which is really not much fun at all. Same gun with a longer barrel? Just fine. Medium loads in the 4? A hoot. Like weight gain, or asset forfeiture, it's all about balance. The cartridge power is half of it, the weight (and to a lesser degree, configuration) of the piece also counts for a lot. Eat less _and_ exercise more. Get a better-paying job _and_ spend less money. Then it's easy. My .50 BMG Desert Rhino plinking rifle was actually first made as a pistol, believe it or not. (They required a release form be signed by that first customer.) The rifle weighs some 22#, so it doesn't kick all that bad with its soda-can-sized muzzle brake. About like the typical 12-ga. The _concussion_, however, is something else entirely, and has given me a tremendous case of flinch that I'm going to have to work on if I don't want to be ribbed forever by my family. I have yet to get a taker for the $20 I've offered to have somebody shoot it without the brake. My boss's boss tried to micro-manage it and got a nice scope bite for his trouble. A couple of rounds through it and I'm ready to call it a day. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

What do you think about a turbo with 160k on the clock... rust starting in the rear wheel arches? Sounds like trouble. Maybe if you really loved the car...
