IIRC I've already told you guys about our plans to rebuild the house up north.
We just returned from a 2 week trip up there. On this trip I wanted to spend
time evaluating the house and making a plan of attack. One of the things I
looked at was the water

You don't want anything in the way of working on the plumbing. 2' in front
of the pump, and 2' over it, sounds a bit close. Also, you don't want the
electrics in the path of any leak that might spring up and spray the area.
Pressure switches should cut out when the pressure gets too low, too.
They might be giants...
Was the switch located up high to keep it out of the spring floods? Or
were they trying to save wire, make a short run? Or was the floor dug out
to make the room deeper after the switch was installed?

Either that or just carry them in as you suggested. I’ve done that on a couple

application if you carry in. You just tell them what tires you want and they do
the rest.

A hybrid water heater uses a heat pump, just like you would have on a house, to
extract heat from the surrounding atmosphere and use it to heat the water. Very
efficient compared to a resistive heating element.

So one great story I got out of the trip up north. About 30 years ago Caldon
thought that the electric water heater was "too expensive" to run so he shut it
off.
Yeah, think about that one for a second, he lived for 30 years with no hot
water. "If I wanted hot water I put a pan on the stove."
At least for now it'll be a summer house only so I don't forsee any problem.
At -33F (last winter's coldest temp) it might have an issue but there is a
basement wood stove we could potentially fire up if we decided to live there
full time. It was 50F in the basement last week when it was 60F
Going back and looking at the rebate again yours is the exact model I'm

Also I was wrong about how long I had to do it, I thought the rebate ran until
the end of July, its actually the end of June. Might have to make a quick
unscheduled trip up north.
One thing that concerns
And just to clarify, it’s a little heat pump that just sits on top of the tank,
hence the height that these units have. That and it dups cold air as a product
of the operation, so in climates like mine, it acts as a sort of air
conditioner in my garage.

There are cell phone controlled switches for turning on aircraft engine
heaters remotely in the winter. You could use one of those to power a DPST
latching relay that could turn the water heater on and off as needed.

Inefficient because in low ambient situations they fall back onto resistive
heating elements and are no more efficient than a “regular” resistive element
heater.
