For most of the world its a needless war
initiated with deception .
It's played havoc on the international system
resulting in economic ruin to many.

Ironically the threats still remain afar from this theatre of war which
has
taken so many innocent lives .
Hope all come home safely.

Convert a _450SL_ to stick? I think the 380+ engines won't
mate to the same trannies as the 450's.

I use PBR Deluxe pads. The claim is no dust. It seems to be true
from my experience.

And they mess with the air flow over the brakes and so the

You might also consider something like putting a few
good-sized rocks in the bucket under the basket, would that work
to hold it up?

I thought about that, but I was concerned about the chance one might slip
over and block suction from the pump. I'll have to see if I can find some
stainless bolts or another setup that won't rust. So far, it's working, and
pump performance is better than it's been in a long time.

After I scolded Admiral Wacko the insane for not reading the subject

to free, and the re is a project car that could be really nice. I
have others with spare auto trans for 110/111 body. Those trans
would be scrap price if you take em out. Got some 4 speeds too for
110/111 and maybe 114/115 rear axles , driveshafts, you name it (110/111)

Other family members are forcing the sale of the farm that has been

have no storage space. Kaleb has declined in favor of thinning his

59 220b 111 Auto, good interior, low miles, but the whole front end
is a mess. I have a Brand new factory front inner clip for it, as
well as fender, hood, bumper and other goodies. Needs a lot of TLC,
but few parts that I don't have. Chassis number 000499 engine number
000999 It has to be one of the first to hit the shores of the

Would consider trading for small items of value

[MBZ] According to the London Times

2008-07-15 Thread RELNGSON
> The Investor's Business Daily editorial board ask, "What would happen if
> the U.S. won a war but the media didn't tell the American public? Apparently,
> we have to rely on a British newspaper for the news that we've defeated the
> last remnants of al-Qaida in Iraq ."
>
London's Sunday Times called it=2 0"the culmination of one of the most
spectacular victories of the war on terror." A terrorist force that once
numbered
more than 12,000, with strongholds in the west and central regions of Iraq, has
over two years been reduced to a mere 1,200 fighters, backed against the wall
in the northern city of Mosul.

The destruction of al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI) is one of the most unlikely and
unforeseen events in the long history of American warfare. We can thank
President Bush's surge strategy, in which he bucked both Republican and
Democratic
leaders inWashington by increasing our forces there instead of surrendering.

We can also thank the leadership of the new general he placed in charge
there, David Petraeus, who may be the foremost expert in t he world on
counter-insurgency warfare. And we can thank those serving in our military
in Iraq who
engaged local Iraqi tribal leaders and convinced them America was their friend
and AQI their enemy.

Al-Qaida's loss of the hearts and minds of ordinary Iraqis began
in Anbar Province , which had been written off as a basket case, and spread out
from
there.

Now, in Operation Lion's Roar the Iraqi army and the U.S. 3rd Armored
Cavalry Regiment is destroying the fraction of terrorists who are left. More
than
1,000 AQI operatives have already been apprehended.

Sunday Times reporter Marie Colvin, traveling with Iraqi forces in Mosul,
found little AQI presence even in bullet-ridden residential areas that were
once
insurgency strongholds, and reported that the terrorists have lost control of
its Mosul urban base, with what is left of the organization having fled south
into the countryside.

Meanwhile, the State Department reports that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri
al-Maliki's government has achieved "satisfactory" progress on 15 of the 18
political benchmarks ï¿Å¨ a big change for the better from a year ago.

Things are going so well that Maliki has even for the first time floated the
idea of a timetable for withdrawal of American forces. He did so while
visiting the United Arab Emirates, which over the weekend announced that it was
forgiving almost $7 billion of debt owed by Baghdad ï¿Å¨ an impressive vote of
confidence from a fellow Arab state in the future of a free Iraq.

But where are the headlines and the front-p age stories about all this good
news? As the Media Research Centerpointed out last week, "the CBS Evening
News, NBC Nightly News and CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 were silent Tuesday night
about the benchmarks" that signaled political progress.

The war in Iraq has been turned around 180 degrees both militarily and
politically because the president stuck to his guns. Yet apart from IBD, Fox
News
Channel and parts of the foreign press, the media don't seem to consider this
historic event a big story.

As for the Wacko -- guilty as charged. And the day I am not Wacko, someone
please make the trip to Iowa and put a bullet into me, for I will have
morphed into something that is not me. I don't want to be anyone other than
me, because it would be so strange and disorienting. I'd have to strike out
on a journey looking for myself. And I'd never find myself zipping by at 65

There is a good reason that I can do what I do for a living, and get up each

don't do that. It takes a Wacko.

My personal carpenter's level has always been about 5 degrees away (normally

Just for the purpose of entertaining your ridiculous statistic, perhaps it's

Who's to say it's not the force of the American people... you know, those

it was even stupider than that. small towns and shopping center in georgia
were being evactuated due to the possibility of terrorist attack. I was
actually turned away on the road to the outlet mall in dawsonville, georgia
by some dude in army fatigues (don't know if has army, national guard or
police as he became extremely hostile when i suggested he identify himself
and state teh source of his authority). how can you blame a government for
taking advantage of a people so willfully moronic?

the peanut dust line comes from mcdonalds. the public schools have seen fit
to convince parents that after terrorism, peanuts are the greatest threat to
their childrens' well being. to reassure worried parents, mcdonalds put on
their cookie wrappers "cookies may have been exposed to peanut dust." so
now you can feel secure as you feed your kids this garbage so they can grow
up all big and strong to further support the insane war mongering
imperialism.

Ahh, should have kept reading before I posted that comment. It seems that
Kennedy blew the Bay of Pigs, which prompted Cuba to seek protection from the
Soviets. And Kennedy put missiles in Turkey aimed at Moscow and other large
Soviet cities, and Khrushchev responded by putting missiles in Cuba aimed at us.

In 1961, the U.S. deployed 15 Jupiter IRBMs (intermediate-range
ballistic missiles) at Izmir, Turkey, aimed at the western USSR's
cities, including Moscow. Given its 1,500-mile (2,410 km) range, Moscow
was only 16 minutes away. Yet, Kennedy gave them low strategic value,
given that a SSBN submarine provided the same magnitude of threat, and
from a distance.

Khrushchev publicly expressed anger and personal offense from the
Turkish missile emplacement. The Cuban missile deployment - the first
time Soviet missiles were outside the USSR - was his response to U.S.
nuclear missiles in Turkey.

The only lasting part of Kennedy's little pissing match with Castro is the
embargo against Cuba, started with a series of executive orders in 1962 and
finally enshrined into law in the last couple of decades. Can anybody explain
to
me why the embargo needed to be expanded during the Clinton and BushII
administrations, years after Castro lost his Soviet backing?
BTW, that hypocrite JFK is said to have bought 1,200 of his favorite cigars
immediately before signing a royal proclamation banning anybody else from
buying
them.

Mitch.

For starters, our cars are not made in China, they are made in Germany. But
many parts are made in China.

Second, I would not trust the life of my engine on a epoxy patch. But I
guess I've been around longer than you and have seen too many examples of
people destroying engines & transmissions while "saving money".

Third, as Kaleb stated, BEHR makes a good radiator.

Fourth, while you are at it, you need to replace both radiator hoses along
with the radiator & use good hoses - no local "discount store" crap. You
need hoses from Napa or from Rusty.

They are VERY inexpensive. Less than half the price of a Behr. Has

Well, OK, I will just come right out and say it. This guy emails me a
few days ago with an extensive list of parts. I take the time to see
what I have available and give him quotes. Did not have a radiator,
sent him your way. Next thing I know he is posting on my list here
looking for the parts. WTF? I have him a quote. Does he think he is
going to get it cheaper? Its the sale of those parts that funds this
list. I have people do that every once in a while. When they do screw
around, they run the risk of somebody else coming along and buying the
parts that he needs, then I dont have anything for him. Oh well, about
the like the guy who didnt want the E420 because it had brake dust on
the wheels.

So, we had an established position in Turkey, and they used the new Cuban bases

Excerpt from Wiki:

The climax period of the crisis began on October 15, 1962, when United
States reconnaissance photographs taken by an American U-2 spy plane
revealed missile bases being built in Cuba, and ended two weeks later on
October 28, 1962, when President of the United States John F. Kennedy
and United Nations Secretary-General U Thant reached an agreement with
the Soviets to dismantle the missiles in Cuba in exchange for a no
invasion agreement and a secret removal of the Jupiter and Thor missiles

and your point is?

We are dealing with a sect that is determined to kill or convert us
by any means. That includes infiltration, and using our own systems
to kill and maim. Remember Sept 11, 2001? Those were just "peaceful
fun loving students." These are people who believe that a lie told
to an "infidel" is not a lie. None of us know what is really in
Osama Obama's mind. (just quoting ted Kennedy) It is no accident
that the numbers of moslem immigrants has skyrocketed in the past 10
or 12 year.

Whether Obama is a terrorist or not, it is very clear he will be far
more friendly to terrorists than most Americans are. Although
distasteful, the notion is that a politician elected US Senator is a
terrorist, unfortunately is NOT absurd! Obama's rapid, vacuous rise
indicate there are forces beyond the normal behind him. Who is to
say it is not the force of wa ha bi?

Re: [MBZ] 300td 1982 deerslayer radiator

2008-07-15 Thread Loren Faeth
A good radiator is a lot cheaper than another engine. Have you
priced a head, pistons and sleeves recently? Add a gasket set, new
injectors, machine shop work and labor and you begin to get the idea.

I am cheap, but radiators and tires are not the places to go
cheap. The radiator is a small insurance policy that you will get
there. Good tires are insurance that you will stay on the road, be
able do dodge idiots and be able to stop in the shortest practical distance.

2008-07-15 Thread Tom Hargrave
For starters, our cars are not made in China, they are made in Germany. But
many parts are made in China.

Second, I would not trust the life of my engine on a epoxy patch. But I
guess I've been around longer than you and have seen too many examples of
people destroying engines & transmissions while "saving money".

Third, as Kaleb stated, BEHR makes a good radiator.

Fourth, while you are at it, you need to replace both radiator hoses along
with the radiator & use good hoses - no local "discount store" crap. You
need hoses from Napa or from Rusty.

2008-07-15 Thread Kaleb C. Striplin
Oh well, about
the like the guy who didnt want the E420 because it had brake dust on
the wheels.

2008-07-15 Thread Rick Hawkins Java
Folks

no one has offered me a decent deal on a good used radiator for my
300td Deerslayer. With a bit of searching i've found Silla Radiators
which are made guess where? . CHINA just like our cars!!

They are VERY inexpensive. Less than half the price of a Behr. Has
anyone seen or used or heard about one? Email me directly if you have
any info.

Meanwhile, I've patched mine up using WATERWELD putty , from walmart
jb weld and it seems to be holding fine

we'll see.

Re: [MBZ] poll -- just for my own curiousity .. Gary sees sooomanygay women

2008-07-15 Thread R A Bennell
Twisting this off onto another topic but it is sometimes difficult not to sound
like we are whining. The whole
energy discussion of the past few days on here is a case in point. We are all
whining about the cost of fuel (in
more ways than one) and whining that it isn't our fault and someone should have
saved us from ourselves. Darned
hard to stand up and just say I should have been smarter and not been such a
sheep and followed the herd like
everyone else. I particulary feel that way because I have traditionally tried
to be conservative when it comes to
things like fuel economy and now find myself sitting with a fleet of guzzlers
wondering how I ended up in that
spot. Even my so called frugal old diesel isn't an efficient one and now diesel
is more expensive than gas.(more
whining)

And your point is?

Although distasteful, it just points out how absurd the notion is that a
politician elected US Senator is a terrorist.

People... regardless if you are a Republican or Democrat, you have to see
the absurdity of this shit the tube pumps into your home. Think for Christ's
sake before opening your mouth and regurgitating this garbage.

5 decades ago it would have been a babushka, a woolen hat, vodka and a
picture of Stalin.

6 decades ago it would have been a kimono, geta sandals and a picture of
Tojo.

I helped communities organize hunger walks for some years, and what often
ended up working better than hiring cops was finding crossing guards - well
trained and cheaper also if there were none in the walk to volunteer. The
cost for walker insurance and of required or necessary assistance at road
crossings was built into our national budget.

When they have a rally in Michigan's capital, the gov't builds a tall chain
link
fence for them to stand behind and pays overtime to a hundred cops. And the
local newspaper does a dozen or two articles vilifying them, which amounts to
about a million dollars worth of free advertising. What a waste.

InterestingI've never made that connection.
Does Rusty know you're doing all this deep thinking while on the clock?

no, it's just the feminization of america

when i was a kid, the neighborhood was our small town. there was a good
sized hardware/department store called "wainrite's". me and my friends
would roam around there as we had nothing better to do. they would throw us
out.

they had a security guard who looked like a giant to us. he'd see us, grab
us by the neck, carry us to the door and literally throw us out. we would
then wait until he was out of earshot and give him a few choice racial slurs
and discuss how lucky he was that we didn't want to get in trouble or his
ass would be kicked.

this was just life. we weren't upset or traumatized, but just had to move
on to another playground. if i went him and told my dad what happened, he'd
go down to the store and congratulate the guy for not putting up with our
punk kid bs and commend his restraint for not beating the tar out of us.

today this would be a national scandal, especially if peanut dust was
present.

the rise of women has created a faggotized nation of whiners and
allergetics.

Maybe since it has "cylenders" the head will be flawless.
If it were closer I'd look. Seems a little too good, you think?

isn't that awfully cheap for 87 300D with only 80,000 miles? I wonder how
long it would take me to get from Atlanta to Wichita?

Probably has the bead head it would crack somewhere in Alabama.
