Its a vw, so beware the timing belt. If it was changed on time, it is about due for another. Can the PO show you a receipt for the last timing belt? Otherwise, change it soon. Failure means trashed valves and possibly head. Also has the vw single plunger IP, nowhere near as reliable as

When you boot up the lappy do you feel any air coming from the exhaust port? If not then the fan is clog. I replaced the fan in a HP lappy with the same processor a few weeks ago. Unit would power up then shut down after a min or two. Out came the canned air. Blew out the fan intake ans exhaust.
