My main retirement home (aka house) recommendation is to keep fixed costs low. Low is a relative term depending on your retirement income but in my case it means: zero house payment, property taxes and insurance each below $2K a year (pretty-much rules out blue states) , and basic electricity

Marine stabil is the only one  worth having. Seafoam gas additive is good too. I put a fuel shut off on most everything, seems to help a lot. We went to Maine last weekend to see the folks. Dad sent me home with a rototiller he wanted me to get running. He hadn't used in for maybe 6-10 years.
