Re: [MBZ] Vacuum lines
What year/model was this? Plugged three way may be for the vacuum locks. Vacuum line routing varies year to year and sometimes within the year.. You need the specific diagram for that vehicle. It should never go into second at 60. It could go into third. Sunvalley website has vacuum diagrams and trans tuning info for most Diesels, but the article is just generic for Diesels. the differentiations are in the text and diagrams. Donald Snook via Mercedes wrote on 9/30/19 3:06 PM: Anybody have an actual picture (rather than the diagram) of the vacuum line routing? I think there should be 3 lines going into the switchover valve. But, I have 1 or 2. I also have a 3 way connector that only has two hoses going into it. I remember something about one line that a lot of people put a golf tee in. But, I don’t remember which one. My locks don’t work — and I’m not worried about that now. But, that could be a symptom of vacuum leaks. I’m wondering about the lack of power. Either I have forgotten how slow these really are. Or, there is something wrong. A few things seem odd. Almost zero smoke with hard acceleration, some at start up. But, even with it floored climbing a hill, there is no smoke. Transmission either shifts very early or the kick down isn’t responding. I was able to drive consistently at 75-80. I even climbed a hill at pegged it at 85 and it was still accelerating. But, if I floored at 60, it accelerated but did not downshift. Re: [MBZ] New E320 CDI Fun - NOT
That is correct, more so that I replace the seals on the injectors, the injectors themselves aren’t leaking - it’s the seal between the injector nozzle and the head, a copper washer. Parts to do the whole set are like $18.00 from the dealer, and it’s common enough that my dealer stocks them. The success of the job really revolves around being surgically clean, especially for the hold down bolt. The bolt gets replaced as it’s a stretch bolt, but if there is any crud in the bolt bore it can cause the bolt to break upon tightening or punch through the bottom of the bore into the water jacket should there be solids or liquids presentbefore the bolt is threaded in. -D > On Sep 30, 2019, at 11:59 AM, Donald Snook wrote: > > I thought as long you replaced the leaking injectors it would be okay? > > Donald H. [MBZ] 93 (140) Diesel for Sale in Dallas
The guy I bought the 123 from also had an 87 300SDL. I wish I would have known that. But, he sold it already for $1500. He also has a 93 (140 chassis) diesel. That’s a rodbender, right? He said the previous owner garaged it since 2003. 129K. Transmission was rebuilt two years ago. Has new tires and AMG wheels. I’m assuming it has not had the replacement engine. He wants $3K but says he is open to offers. I’m staying away from it. But, for anyone else that has an engine, this could be decent. Donald H. I had an ER visit years ago that was not covered by health insurance, ended up with a few stitches in my thumb after I ripped off the thumbnail with a sawz-all. The doctor's cost was about $800 and the ER / hospital charge was another $1000 or so. Most painful event of my life, but the thumbnail grew back beautifully. - Max Charleston SC On Mon, Sep 30, 2019 at 7:43 AM Mitch Haley via Mercedes < mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > If a doctor doesn't make $700 an hour, why should I pay $1500 to be stuck > on a gurney in the ER and mostly ignored for 90 minutes? > Mitch > > > On September 29, 2019 at 11:43 PM Scott Ritchey via Mercedes < > mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > > > > > There is an old joke about a doctor who arrives home after a double > shift only to find his basement flooded.
