I looked back but didn't find photos that would helpful. As I recall, the refrigerant lines on the indoor unit stuck out (on the outside) about a foot when the indoor unit was installed on the bracket. These "pigtails" were terminated with the threaded cone fitting for flared tubing. >

I have a clone of that, paid about $30 on eBay or Amazon.  Works ok.  Used it last night to find that the compressor front seal is leaking on my '95 E300. They are probably not as accurate for small leaks like a professional tool, but useful enough for the occasional leak.  I've confirmed one

Out in my huge shop I have thought about installing a 5 ton unit at some point that will be able to keep the shop semi cool for the few hours a week I am out there. I will probably never get around to that so thought about one of those portable AC units that has a hose out the back for exhaust.
