I saw one on the interstate a few months ago cruising along at about 70. It was
tiny compared to the ML or GL or whatever I was in. I was really concerned
about how it would handle the wake from a big truck, and a direct physical
interaction

Of course they're metric, but you should be able to find something in the
"majik boxes" at your local hardware store. Not sure where I got my last set,
but it wasn't from Mercedes.

Thanks, David.
That it would be only the 6.9 makes sense.
I looked at the chapter on removal and
Pretty detailed ad but no mention of all the mucking with the vacuum system

Take the o-rings you remove to the local bearing supply store, or a local auto
parts store and match them up.
Viton will work just fine.

I’ve been fortunate whenever I’ve needed an O-ring to always get “close enough”
with my harbor freight O-ring set. But don’t know about these and I’d find it
hard to believe that set had something that was hard to find elsewhere.

Yeah they were usually CB channel 14 IIRC, and low power. Was lucky to get a
couple of hundred yards range on the ones I had as a kid.

Use the threaded end of a spark plug (the end with the terminal for the spark
plug wire) to thread into the valve cores to pull them out.

Good day,
I'm in the middle of the nightmare of removing the heater core from my
W108.068. This was prompted by the death of the fan motor. Since I'm in
there and they're leaking a tad, I will be replacing the o-rings at the two
valves. I gather it's 000-835-12-98 and 000-835-13-98 and that one
