My vote would be to replace all the rubber, but that is a serious
undertaking which requires a spring compressor to be safe. Brake
support aka Track Rod bushings are a good bet, as are upper control
arm ball joint and bushings. I did a complete overhaul of front

come off, you just remove one bolt and it flips open. New bolt with
lock-tite coating should come in box with new pads.

I'll second the vote for M1 ATF. The transmission in my '87 300TD just
seems to get better and better, I'm on the second change of M1 ATF in
that car. I still think the torque converter is bad but haven't been
able to find documented stall speed yet - don't think the M1 is going to

124 rear suspension does have the rubber spring pads on top of the rear
springs; during my inspection recently I noted that mine have 3-tab
