How do I lubricate the cable so that it operates smoothly and I don't break
the new switch?
They make a cable lube device (about $15) that clamps on one end and has a
port for a penatrant tube. Clamp it on, insert tube and spray away. I have
one and it works.

I would like to use Mobil 1 but the manual calls for straight 10, 20 or 30 wt,
depending on temp. The manual was written in 1959.
I know oil threads bring flame and grape shot, but I would like some input from
this group.

The rack damper bolt is only part of the equation with respect to getting
the idle 'right', or as right as it can be.
First, the adjustment has to be done with the engine as hot as you can get
it, so if you are able to work in a place near a stretch of highway all the
price. Of course it ain't here yet. :)

when you install or remove the assembly on a 190D. DO NOT have the car on
so you can listen to the radio while you do this. When you loosen the nut
that holds the motor
handy to throw nuts, bolts, tools and parts into when
I screen the trash out. I use a square point shovel to scoop it off the floor
and the ash shovel to spread from the barrel.

graph of all the data I have recorded over the last 10 months.
In the attached graph, the lines for Regular, Mid, and High are the
price of gasoline per gallon
I've seen the spread less than 20 cents. I may have done the math wrong in my
head, or read the numbers wrong, but I saw a 16 cent spread at one station as I
drove by.

Thanks Craig, USAA is where I read about it also. Like you, I don't need a
new car but my kids and their kids are members and I want to be able to keep
them informed.
Its always good to hear from folks that have BTDT.
I also agree that USAA is a good reference.

believe it was caused by the vacuum I left running while replacing the
injector return lines.
