auctions I’ve seen are pretty transparent and get seriously vetted by the
peanut gallery, but as with any used car I would still want a PPI or inspection

That’s the issue with the third party readers. They’ll only read standard
OBD-xx industry codes. A lot of manufacturers have their own codes that go

I would bet the rebuild is going to be as much if not more than the new one.
For that little of a difference I would go with new if it were up to me.

Are you sure the cover isn’t removable or is sealed? I would look closely for
some notches in it that might index in a tab. I guess they might use sealed
relays due to the presence of water, but it adds a lot of expense.
Sounds like the relay isn’t sized properly for the current being switched
