So where is this oil separator? I want to check it out and see what's goin' on with it. Do the NA cars have the baffle inside the valve cover too? Would have thought so. The separator should be inside the air cleaner housing, in the center. The giveaway is if there's an oil drain tube

I had the air cleaner housing off the car during the valve adjustment to clean it up. I didn't see an oil drain tube. I hope that there's a chance that the new owner can keep her on the road for a long time. Kevin in Hillsboro, Benzless, but still breathing diesel exhaust

I NEVER thought that I would end up with a car that has this problem, but old Granny has decided to spring it on me! She won't shut off with the key, so I have to use the stop button under the hood. Before this, there was a wire under the dash that would cause the starter to cut in and out if

I haven't changed the oil filter in a while. That's the first place I checked, and it was still connected there. If the shutoff valve checks out OK, I'm going to check every line to see if they're all seated tightly in their fittings and how good they are. I anticipate finding something

It still has a slight miss, but it's using tons of oil too, lots of blue smoke puffing out of it. It's been a good experience, but this is going to be a case of getting my money back out of it and moving on to another one with a sound engine. The glow plugs have been tested and they are

from the valve cover into the air cleaner. It could use some type of oil separator so that oil feedback doesn't gunk up the intake which I'm sure it's doing quite well. IF I remove the oil cap for even a second or so It's already got one, doesn't it? Whether it's working correctly or

I have a 1980 300CD which initially had serious problems with excessive blow-by and associated oil consumption. The prescription: Diesel purge, regular Italian tune-ups and drive it like yer pants are on fire and yer ass is catchin'. The blow-by is quite likely due to rings which are crapped up
