So the car passed inspection, the state will be off my back for one year. I
went out for a ride to celebrate. Took a short highway run and above 60mph I've
got a pretty serious vibration. I can't tell where its coming from, some
posibilities:

If it seems like a harmonic vibration e.g. occurs at certain speeds
but not others it could be as simple as needing the tires properly

Easy thing to do, since you recently had the brakes off, is to put the front
tires on the back and the back tires on the front. Did the vibration move with
them? If not, are your front wheel bearings sloppy?
You did torque the lugs down, didn't you?

Most likely is a bad tire. Drive on a smooth surface at about

much as I hate the place I should call Wal-Mart and see what they'd charge me
to mount 'em. All the other tire places around here are closed on Sunday.

As I told my wife I got a sticker to get the state off my back. I WILL
make sure the car is safe but the State had backed me into a corner...
