Manfred's stove is a thing of beauty. All the upper crust now are buying reproductions of such stoves, but Manfred's is the real thing. In college i commandeered my mom's 48" GE stove with the "deep well." It worked wonderfully, but the oven was small (24") I want an oven that will take

Yes. I lost power this week and wanted some toast. I used a long match and lit my stove that way. No oven, because that needs computer control, but four burners makes a fine enough meal clay > On Jan 18, 2017, at 10:43 AM, Andrew Strasfogel via Mercedes > wrote: >

Ah, yes. I remembered the lanterns, but thought of those tubes of LEDs when I read runners. We use a Coleman propane lantern and an Aladdin type for back-up light. Also have the propane range that was in the house when we bought it on the back patio next to the grill and hooked up for yet another

For lighting it's hard to beat the Aladdin kerosene lamps. Various other lamps and flashlights are good to have, but as a primary backup light source our two Aladdins are it. Considering how ill-designed our house is for off-grid living, we've still got it pretty good when the juice stops

Yes, but a long lighter would be much safer / easier. However, piezoelectric igniters do not have any external power supply (at least the type I'm familiar with). Perhaps you have some other type of igniter? Does one push of the button give one spark, or do you hold down the button and get
